Reasonable cost to rent a garage

I've got the offer of a dry secure single garage (my house doesn't have one untilk I get round to building it!) on a private rent. It has light and power but I'm not too fussed about that. Less than 5 miles from where i live. Mainly for storage of 'stuff' whilst I renovate the house but may use it for the Zed or the Camper (if she fits) over the winter.

The deal is £100 for 3 months which is less than £8 a week - seems reasonable to me, anyone done similar?

My local council do rent out garages for £21pm but they're not as secure, you are not allowed to keep anything except a car in them and they're pre-fabs on waste ground basically so don't fancy that option!
 
Sounds very reasonable

But I guess it depends on the area and local amenities e.g train station, lack of parking etc

I rent my garages out for £10 a week on a quarterly basis, they are all brick and in a good area, but no light or power, I have a waiting list, so £8 a week seems good, but no garage is totally secure be careful who sees what you put it in it, and maybe get a shed alarm and see if you can give a neighbour your number so they can keep an eye on it for you.
 
I insure my garages for rebuilding costs only, my insurance stipulate that no gas canisters or petrol cans, but other than that all OK, I do not insure contents, so you might want to get insurance, you maybe be able to add cover from your house insurance for a small premium.
 
If you can find one, it's £75-£100 for a garage per MONTH with no electric round my way so consider yourself lucky.

I need 2 & fortunately have an arrangement of 6 bottles of wine per quarter with a friend to keep the Zed warm & dry.

My suggestion is to speak to your mum/dad/grandparents if they're in the same area to ask them if they know any old folk who don't run a car & have an empty garage.
