You won't find any BMW coupe (presuming you've got a coupe) with a rear wiper (or saloon for that matter - especially a convertible)

I believe the only BMW's with a rear wiper are the Tourers, 1 series hatchback and 3 series compact

Wrong!

The M Coupe has a rear wiper.

Doesn't look great though...
agreed. It looks like it came off an Austin Allegro estate! :-)

i never pictured the z3m and austin allegro together but nowi can see the look very similar lol

So far the consensus is a big NO , ok , and Astons don't have them nor do modern 911's although the original 911 turbo did. Will have to get used to a murky view out the back on wet mornings . Huge respect for all your views and I love my m coupe by the way , just nit picking .

Maybe you need to go to specsavers? :) I've never ever considered the car needed one. On the motorway the rain clears from the rear window anyway due to aerodynamic flow. Even in town, provided no mist on rear window I didn't have any problem or ever thought it needed a wiper.
I also find when set correctly the side mirrors give a very good rear view showing anything pretty much even directly behind you and rain doesn't really affect them.

As said - wax the rear screen, the airflow will do the rest. In the mean time, use your wing mirrors correctly when overtaking

i hate rear wipers with a passion. they ruin the lines of any car.

it would most definitely ruin the coupe's line if you stuck one on.

The wing mirrors don't take the place of the rear view mirror , try reversing out onto a road in the early morning ! ferrari driver went past me this evening on the other side of the road coming through thedddingworth leics and had a good look , don't think he had seen an mc before !

Doh! How could i forget the X's?!

As for the M Coupe - would look better without one.

And lastly, the Z4 Coupe would look awful with a rear wiper. The stupid aerial location looks bad enough as it is. I still don't understand why they didn't build the aerial into the big pane of glass on the back.... or even a sharksfin on the roof... (flame retardant suit on)

i never had your problem... its not great view anyway through the back...

i suggest you get rear parking sensors

Again, what does any van do? Just take it carefully and slowly until you can see with your mirrors, if you have to reverse out everyday, you would probably do better to reverse in instead.

Granted a rear view is ideal, but I don't mind losing a window to have a better looking car. With the roadster, I have the wind deflector in at all times so I have little view out of the back anyway so never use it.

I just clean/clear my mirrors & windows before I even start the car - unless it's really cold and then I'll turn the engine on to let the heater/demister help.

I just use the rubber 'squeegy' end of my ice scraper.

If necessary I'll just have to go to Halfords and ask one of the chaps there to drill a hole somewhere at the base of the hatch and fix one on with a piece of electrical wiring tapped along the inside to a nice shiny toggle switch on the fasia panel ! Only joking !

If you wait long enough the inevitable boot rust will make the hole for you.
