Rear Window Condensation

I don't have the dreaded roof motor issues, or any leaks that I can see, however the car smells a little damp.

I also get condensation on the inside of the rear window which doesn't clear when the back demisters are on.

Is this a sign of any seals going, or has anyone else found this and sorted it out?

Any help greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Have you checked your carpets to see if they are damp?

Sounds like water getting in somewhere, but could be a number of causes.

Would tend to agree that it would seem you have water getting in somewhere. If not noticeable in the front footwells, move the seat forward and put your hand underneath the carpet there.

A certain amount of misting is normal at this time of year. I get condensation on the rear window when temperature drops after being parked up following use. Happened this afternoon when I parked and left the car in the shade for a couple of hours, but cleared in about 5 mins with the rear heater on (hardtop)

I know I have no water leaks so would certain that you do given it not clearing and especially the damp smell.

Start as above by feeling the carpet to see which area is wet to narrow down the leak. Door membranes, rear drains, front drains, even rear lights if the water is in the boot/battery.
