Rear wheel arch lips-

Hi all-i posted about this a few days ago,its still niggling me -the drivers side rear wheel arch lip has from what i can vaguely describe as having 'bits' in the paint,whereas the opposite side has bits in the paint but not as many-i know im not describing it very well,but the overall finish up the side of the car is spot on?-any thoughts?-thanks
 
Thanks for the replies guys,Taz x -soz no good at uploading pics,but its the narrow painted lip around the rear arches,srhutch you say its underseal but its the same paint colour as the car is that correct?
 
Are you talking about the metallic flecks in the paintwork? Or are these 'bits' sticking out slightly so you can actually feel them?

In all seriousness there are very few cars these days on the road that haven't had a blow over at on a small area, my car certainly has. But it's not usually anything to worry about... parking too close to a rough hedge... leaning against a panel with studs on your jeans... so many honest mistakes and lets face it if most of us did something silly like this then we'd have it blown over so our cars looked mint again. And even top dollar body shops don't always pay attention to hidden edges like arches.

It is also a very common practice for dealers to have something blown in when a car hasn't even been registered yet, due to stone chips from being on the back of a transporter. I noticed one on my fathers Mazda a week or so back and he bought it new. I also bought an Ibiza Cupra new back in 2001 and one day when I decided to detail it properly clay it all back and get it shining like glass, I noticed one of the skirts had been blown in. Personally if the car's been HPI cleared and everything is straight on it I wouldn't worry.

Also I'd like to point out that BMW paint isn't always the best finish, I've seen a dust spec or 2 in a few brand new BMWs. The paint lasts for years but the finish has been known to get past quality control in the factory a few times over the years.
 
Thanks chris-yeah your right-i just panic and fret too much-it does go away with the roof down tho :) -markos,yeah they feel kind of spikey?
 
I remember my manufacturing lecturer saying the edges of dies and moulds are rough and it varies with the age and number of impressions made so maybe one mould was newer than the other?

I had mine from new, it's how it's come out of the factory, if I can I will take a pic over the weekend to make sure we are talking about the same thing.

Yes it body coloured and lacquered.
