Rear tyre wear

My 2006 roadster has done 15,000 miles and the tyres still seem to have a bit of life left in them. It feels a little easier these days to break traction and light up the rears, so I was wondering how many miles people have done before they replaced them?

12,000 miles for me. Just about to be changed this week! That includes the Ring etc so not bad i reckon.

6,000 miles! I hope that included a lot of track days!

Well the 6,000 miles will have included about 5,000 motorway miles, 2 x 250 mile Welsh hoons, 2 x 250 mile Derbyshire/Yorkshire hoons, and 2 x 170 mile track days - they've still got 3mm or so on them (maybe 4mm).

But if I go to an Oulton drift day I can see them using a mm or 2, so I'd probably need to replace them (at no less than 2mm - maybe keep a set for trackdays, but I'd have to work out how to get them there and fit them).

Mine were replaced at 14k but they still had plenty of life in them. Transfering them onto my spare rims for the Oulton drif day in May :D

Mine lasted 15k and i thought they had a fair bit left to go until i went in to get a slow puncture repaired. The inside of both rears were worn down smooth. Wasnt expecting such a great difference from the inside - outside.

Make sure you check the whole tyre so you dont make the same mistake i did!
