Rear Subs not working + unconnected wires

Hi everyone! I installed a rear camera in my E86 yesterday and decided to investigate my rear subs (one behind each seat) while I was at it. I discovered 2 wires in the trunk near the DSP amp that weren’t connected to anything. One white and one blue with purple tabs on each. I think they’re coax but I’m not positive. There’s also a large 54 pin or so connector that’s not connected to anything. I also noticed another one poking out near the passenger sub that isn’t connected to anything. Does anyone have any info on if these are supposed to be connected to something? About a year ago I noticed what seemed like I had lost a bunch of low end in the system and just never dug deeper. It doesn’t seem like there’s any movement happening in the sub speakers cones at all from what I can tell. I have the carver system with the DSP. I’ve tried everything in the DSP settings and haven’t had any luck. I also checked the fuse on the amp that appears good. Any help or info is appreciated! Pictures are attached.

I’ll stand corrected but I think those are Bluetooth module connections?

In your 1st pic where the yellow/brown wires run upwards what is behind that black metal object? That’s where the BT module sits

I just looked and there’s nothing there. Does look like there is maybe something that’s supposed to be mounted there. I had no idea Bluetooth was even an option.

As for your dsp not working have you checked the condition of the amp- it sits in the battery area and frequently get flooded?

Hi BrentonW - how long have you owned your E86 ? I've had mine about 2 years.

Those connectors are for a Bluetooth telecommunications module (TCU, TeleCommunication Unit). From your vehicle options list, you can see whether your car was fitted with the BMW Bluetooth module. In your photo the TCU seems missing - it's a long aluminum brick that's hard to miss. That unit only handles Bluetooth for telephone, not streaming - so you may not be missing out on much.

Do you have the Sat Nav system with a pop-up screen, or do you have a Carver system with the Business CD headunit? As far as you know, is it stock?
