Rear speakers - easy replacement?

Recently realised that the rear speakers in my Zed are not working. The drivers side not at all and the passenger side crackles and pops - sound quality dreadful.

How difficult is it to replace them or upgrade them?

Anyone have suggestions?

It's substantial work to remove the rear speakers.
I'd say you're better off upgrading front ones and setting it so the back ones aren't used much

That's disappointing. . .was hoping to upgrade easily.

The car is an AUC so maybe I should look at the warranty which runs for a year - maybe the speakers are covered?

Are you sure? I needed to remove one of mine and it was an easy job - pop off the cover and then simply undo the four retaining bolts and out it came. I did have the front seat out at the time but I don't think that would be essential.

Depends if the OP is talking about the speakers at the top or the subs at the bottom... Subs easy, Speakers PITA!
If top speakers are gone and you dont have subs, what about disconnecting the speakers and fitting some better ones where the subs are supposed to go?

They should be covered under AUC warranty - they could try to claim that you've blown them but it's unlikely.

I'd take the stance that, because they've never produced any sound, you assumed the grills were blanks for one of the higher-end audio packages and it's only recently when you tried the front/rear fader and the crackling started that you realised that there were actually speakers behind the grills.
