Rear roof locking mechanism removal e85 04

Hi,

First post here.
I've scoured many forums looking for the answer here, but I've only found a few suggestions for complete removal of the rear roof locking mechanism. Currently it catches on the roof.

Does anyone have a step by step guide for removing this?

Alternatively i'd take a good method of strapping down the parcel shelf side flaps (no idea what else to call them) .

As this seems to help the roof sit better

Which one specifically do you mean?

If it’s the central lock that only engages on the bracket when the roof is down it’s fairly simple to sort

From memory it’s a couple of t25 screws to get the latch mech off and unhook the cable

They are held up with springs. Just remove the springs and either completely remove the side parts, or stick them down with something sticky.

Yes this is the one I'm talking about.
How do you get to these T25 screws? I couldn't see anything when in the boot or do you need to take the storage area behind the seats out?

The securing latch toward the rear of the car stays

You remove the locking mech in the roof

Open the roof you’ll see the bolts
