You need to specify the year and model. Especially if it's on sport or standard suspension, pre or post facelift. If you let me know the 7 digit vehicle code I can look it up on the TIS. The Code is something like 'LT00123'
Standard ride height is then measured from the top of the wheel arch vertically to the centre of the rim or lip (can't recall)
Rolf - tyre size does not affect ride height as the profile of tyres is changed to compensate.

It's all been posted before a couple of times, Sport vs Non Sport and all the different wheel sizes. I've been trying to find it but just don't seem able to find it. I know it's on the TIS disc but unfortunately I don't have mine with me to copy for you.

Sorry to drag up an oooold thread. But can someone give me some advice.
Recently bought a 2004 3.0 roadster and I'm convinced it has the wrong rear springs fitted. It has 18" wheels with the standard bridgestone RFT fitted.
Both were replaced by the previous owner, by BMW, during MOT's over the last 2 years.
I've always thought it sat high at the rear, so today I eventually got round to getting the tape measure out.
Measurements are as follows:
Front Nearside 600mm
Front Offside 599mm
Rear Nearside 610mm
Rear Offside 610mm
All measured using cj10jeepers method above.
This would indicate to me that the standard rear springs had been fitted instead of the sports springs. As even with the +/- 10mm allowance, it still sits 12mm higher than the numbers above!!
I'm tempted to fit a set of eibachs, give that the latest replacement was fitted by bmw in May last year, I think I'll struggle to get anything out of them.
Any thoughts?

Anyone else have any thoughts? What do you think my chances are if I contact the dealership who fitted the wrong springs?
Only issue is that I travelled half way across the country to buy the car!!
EDIT: Scrub that, just discovered that actually they were changed in 2008 and 2009 respectively, so I may aswell give up on BMW admitting they fitted the wrong ones!!

Don't forget to factor in the extra cost of fitting the fronts. Big pita and probably need a garage to do, compared to the rears that are 30 minutes a side max. You'll also really need an alignment doing too.
