Rear parking sensors gone crazy

I have a strange intermittent fault - sometimes, when putting into reverse the sensor beeps go nuts so much so it's almost a solid beep - I assume this means either a duff sensor or is there anything else to check out?

When the car is in reverse put your ear next to each actual sensor, they should 'click' repeatedly, if there is a sensor fail then there won't be any noise coming from it.
Worth a check next time it happens.

I assume there isn't any debris obscuring the sensor.
Snow or road crap usually is the culprit on my Honda Van

Read fault codes with DIS, INPA or BMWhat. Then you know exactly what is the problem. It tells you which sensor is faulty.

The rear sensors on my Landy go bonkers after being driven in heavy rain. Once they're dry again all is fine. I suspect one is letting in water. Maybe the same with yours.
