Rear parking sensors failing

Often when selecting reverse the sensors emit the audible alert that something is behind (when there is not) it's a long continuous tone rather than the beeps and is random sometimes it does it sometimes it doesn't similarly it can last 2 seconds or can continue till I come out of reverse gear.

Having someone walk past the back has shown that 3 sensors are not working now.

Any ideas on causes, potential fixes or remedies or does the unit need replacing in all likelihood? - tbh I don't use it as I can see the back, (unlike the front nose where they should be located) but a long continuous tone when reversing makes it sound like a vans pedestrian warning system!

Sounds like one of the sensors has failed. The long beep happens on the first time you select reverse to warn you that the system has failed and the remaining sensors have been disabled.

If you put your ear close to each sensor in turn with the system activated, the faulty one will make a clicking sound.

Bumper off and new sensor required :(

A common fault on all cars to be honest; my Wife's beetle had a sensor go, main stealer wanted £400 to replace so we went with an indy, £100 all in.
A week later a different sensor went the same way, so they are a pain.

I thought the faulty one is silent and the ones working make a clicking sound.
