Rear Light Cluster

Things seem to have had it in for me today. Spotted a camera van just as I was passing someone on the dual carriageway couple of miles from home, hope I slammed the brakes on in enough time but if not, my own fault. Then one mile from home bulb warning and indicator flashing quick, but a bit intemitent. Checked when I got home and its the n/s rear cluster.

Now i know I have had condensation getting since I got her three years ago but this is the first time there has been trouble. I'm hoping it was over night with alot of rain and parked on a camber, it's not normally, and will dry itself out over the next few weeks while it wont be driven. However, I do think I might need to bite the bullet and get a new cluster.

I know that they can be dried out, resealed and then are good as new, but as it is a daily driver and I have no garage to keep in it or driveway to put a cover over, kinda can't do that.

If I do have to get a full new replacement, would anyone want to take the old one off me to maybe dry out and revive? Would be great to maybe start a chain of them for people to get the refurbed one and send theirs back to someone to try and revive it again but I know that can be a hell of a lot of hassel

Your problem, or whoever buys it, is that the years of condensation will have corroded all the electrical connections internally rendering it u/s without major survey, most likely

It's a fair point, but thought it might have been worth the offer. To my knowledge they are the origional lights so 10 years isnt too bad for them looking at other people experiances

Put the old one on ebay, someone might want to convert it to a running led indicator like on Audi's.
If you buy replacement i would seal it it as the design is not much different from the original with the same design flaws.
