Rear light changes - opinions?

twin spot def better than three spot clusters! how did you colour the reverse lamp? Wouldnt it make the reverse lamp show red..........?

as for the white vs red third id stay clear - more modern and suit silver paint.

I've moved the reversing light into the indicator housing which works brilliantly as I wanted to avoid using tint sprays and stick to OEM lenses. I think it was TomTVR who pioneered this look!

Do you have a guide on how to move the reverse light to the indicator? I have 3 white spots at the moment and would much prefer the more balanced look of two clear spots. Thanks.

Red rear light looks better on silver cars, clear brake light only on darker cars (greys, blacks)...

Fantastic, that would be great! I really like the 2 spot look, makes the rear look wider and less fussy

Sorry for the delay but I've finally had time to upload a couple of pics which should hopefully be pretty self explanatory.

The first thing to do is buy a clear G4 12V 20W bulb and solder appropriately rated cables to it. Then you need to drill a couple of holes in the NS indicator bulb holder so that the new reversing bulb can be fed through into the clear spot lense housing. You could use high temperature silicone to bond the bulb to the indicator bulb but I didn't bother as movement was minimal.



The next step is to solder the cables to the metal plates that feed the original reversing lamp. This bit is tricky for a novice as you'll need a pretty high power iron to dump enough heat into the plates to get a good join.



Final step is to enjoy your now symmetrical light set-up! 8) Hope this helps.

Hi Matt,

I've finally got round to doing this, i have a question before I get stuck in.

Once you have added the clear reversing bulb to the indicator housing, what did you do with the original reversing bulb? Does this still light up when you go into reverse? If it does, then it will show red which will be an MOT fail?
