Rear Center Jacking Point

Hi all,

Not had to lift from the rear before;

I believe your supposed to go for the bolts on the rear body support brace.

Not to sound like a novice (I'm not even part novice yet) but what is the kidney shaped part just in front of the bolts I'm referring to, and what damage would I have done by jacking on it?
