Rear Camber

Hi All,

New Z4 owner here. I just bought a 2015 28i MSport.

Very happy with it, I just had the runflats changed for Conti 7s and an alignment done at the same time. There was an issue with the rear camber even after maximum adjustment we couldn't get close to the factory specs. The maximum we could achieved was left rear -1.59 / right rear -2.05 against factory specs of -2.15 to -2.25. I've had a good check around, nothing seems to be awry, bent or broken. Bushes all look in good shape as well.

I've also checked the dampers front and rear and they are definitely MSport; but there are no part numbers on the springs. Given this car is 9 year old and had several owners, who know what may have been swapped out. Is there anyway to tell whether the springs are MSport or Standard? If the springs are MSport then their length can't be affecting Camber, so what else is the most likely culprit.

Often the case that you can’t get rear toe AND rear camber with stock parts..you need after market camber arms / adjustable rear toe plates sometimes to get perfection..

If that’s all that’s wrong it’s liveable..

Car looks like it’s sitting at MSport height..unusual to change springs just for the sake of it…if they are black they are probably stock,,

I can't help with your suspension/alignment questions but welcome to the forum.

And have some virtual bonus points for a photo in your first post!

Thanks both. I’ll have another look and check everything, it just seems unusual that you can’t achieve factory specs with factory parts.

The design of the rear suspension and the various bushes settling and wearing typically causes this..not unusual
