rear camber

hey

recently got an eibech spring/sachs suspension kit with 50mm drop

anyway to tame the rear camber as its killing tyres,i know its a big drop so may be stuck with it, got the car geod when kit fitted but didnt really help ??

Not sure what set up of alignment you're running but the general consensus is the "standard alignment" is crap. You want the "M alignment" which tames your rear camber slightly and is altogether a better set up... If it's good for the M... it's good for the rest!

Have a quick search on previous posts about M alignment. If you're going to a decent place they should be able to set it up like that.

If he's dropped the car 50mm he won't even get close to the M rear camber

Phil, am i stuck with it so or do you recon i have some movement, i know i have an ecentric bolt on the bottom arms, can i experiment with that before going to tyre shop ???, is that the camber adjuster ???

Lowering kills the rear camber on Z4's. I don't really know why, but it just does.

Mines at -2.5 degrees on the rear, that's after a hunter wheel alignment. I would like less, but I'm unsure whether they can adjust it that much?

Steve appears to know his stuff when it comes to alignment, so hopefully he'll pop in and offer some better advice than me

If your running eibachs then I think you'll need adjustable rear arms to lower the camber on a non m. I couldn't get under 2 degrees with mine on. Although I was running m spec tyres (255/40/18) at the time it was aligned. Even running the standard 255 35 18 folks haven't quite managed m spec rear camber when lowered.

Hi
Not wanting to hijack the thread, but my car is in for a 4 wheel alignment this Friday. What nuts and bolts are used to adjust the geometry?

I want to spray then with penetration fluid beforehand so there's no excuses why they can't be adjusted.

Rear camber there's an offset washer on the bolt at the bottom of the hub
Front camber is the top mounts, need the pins removing first
Track rod ends for front toe
Rear toe there are 3 bolts at the end of the trailing arm attaching it to the body
I think that's everything

Edit: just realised it's a bit late now, might be useful to someone else though.

Thanks. Had mine done, rears all undid fine, unfortunately the track rods were seized so couldn't adjust them. They were within tolerance so not a big issue for now.
Maybe figure out how to separate them for another day!
