Rear brake rotor, pads and sensor cable

Hi folks
A quick bit of advice?
Have any of you experienced this problem. yesterday I swapped my rear discs pads and sensor cable. I retracted the electronic brake using bimmerlink and it all went exactly to plan, I used genuine bmw parts but the dash countdown won’t reset. I have tried bimmerlink using obd port and the desk trip/stalk bc method but none seems to be working. It’s still saying 2400 miles to go to change.

Any suggestions I could try.

Did you have the EFB off when you tried the reset? That will inhibit the reset…

I had this issue - nothing I tried worked (even with the handbrake down). Apparently there are only so many times you can reset it via the dash or third party methods. After that, you have to use ISTA D. Very simple to do if you have the software. Just make sure the handbrake is 'down'.

I'm sure someone will come along and correct me, but thought I'd chime in with my experience.

Well looks like I got lucky. I did what B21 said and believe it or not it worked.
Big thank you B21.
So for all you folks changing brakes don’t forget to reset with electric handbrake OFF.

Sounded like a 'backhanded compliment'. :)

Also just for reference (even though no-one ever takes any feckin notice), YOU DO NOT NEED ANY FANCY CODE READERS TO WIND THE EPB BACK FOR REAR BRAKE CHANGE. IT CAN BE DONE MANUALLY AND AUTO RESETS TO THE CORRECT CLAMPING PRESSURE ONCE FINISHED.

Sorry for shouting
