Evening all.
So last night I decided to take the Z4 out for its first proper drive since purchasing the car. To date it’s been looking pretty outside my house, and been polished lots
.
Since I have never owned a convertible car before, I thought I would embrace the -1 temperature outside and go topless.
This experience would of been incredible, if it were not for a god awful consistent plastic rubbing noise coming from directly behind my head. I tried several times to press different parts of plastic within my reach, whilst driving, but this made absolutely no difference to the sound.
I have only previously done short trips with the roof up, and did notice that the removable wind break between the rear seats made a noise. Removing this with the roof up seemed to cure that particular noise, but made no difference with the roof down.
I feel that if I can not resolve this issue, my z4 ownership may be short lived, as the noise was driving me crazy, and took away from actually enjoying the car.
Hoping that somebody has had a similar issue and found a fix, as I don’t know where to start looking. I have tried searching, but find most issues relate to the e85.
Any help or advise greatly appreciated!
