re rocker cover torque settings

Hi everyone. does anybody know the torque settings for the rocker cover bolts on a 2003 e85 auto M54 engine. Its probably on here somewhere but I'm buggered if I can find it. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ben G. Thanks for that. Did you do the vanos upgrade at the same time? While I'm here i just want to say thanks to the Z4 forum. I have only had my Z for a year and the forum has been a fantastic resource. The information on here is priceless. Paul ( Cognac SW France ) :D
 
No problem mate.

I only replaced the rocker cover gasket set (1 big, 2 small gaskets).

I'm of the ''if it's not broken, don't fix it'' variety. No doubt if i had tried to replace something that hadn't broken, i'd have broken it myself :lol:

Did you have any lights come on the dash whilst it was leaking?
 
Don't know about Ben G but I dont have any warning lights on mine. Its not actually leaking that much, it's just it drips off on the back left corner on to the exhaust manifold right were the heat shield is. The first time it happened I nearly Sh1ted myself because I had only just bought the car in the UK and exported it over to France, knew nothing about BMW's , and there was smoke coming out from under the bonnet. This was just after the expansion tank had let go. Thought I had got a lemon but now I know its just normal stuff for these engines.

Just scrolling through for this info, got mine to do this weekend. Yes quite agree this forum is very helpful. I only had my z4 a couple of weeks. :D

Hi all, need to replace the headlamp lens on my 2003 z4. Is it worth the hassle separating the old lens. If so what's the best sealant to use on new lens? Or bite the bullet and upgrade to halos. Any advice or help is, appreciated
