I may have to replace my UK spec headlights when I change my car on to French plates. Do you have to take the front bumper off to get the lights off, as someone posted on here the other day with a picture, something about lights and they had dropped the nose. if its been covered before, sorry for going over old ground.

Ok so I just found 2 videos on here that say bumper off. should have searched more before posting. 
Firstly apologies for the poor quality photos.
The standard headlight PROJECTOR beam module has a movable shutter which, on cars to drive on the left allows the main beam to 'kick up' on the pavenent side (Left) while cars which drive on the right have the opposite as shown below
There is a beam adjustment in the main beam module which can be slid up to cancel the 'kick up' and is designed so that UK cars can drive on the continent without stick on bean adjusters this produce a flat topped beam which MIGHT be acceptable in France, you would have to take advice on that.
Standard setting cars to drive on the left, shutter control shown by an arrow (The shutter is down as the projector lens 'reverses' the shadow)
Shutter control pushed down so shutter is raised giving a flat topped beam.

Thanks for that reply Nfarmer. I will have to check to see if I have that beam adjuster. It might get me through the control technique which is the French equivalent of an MOT. But they often look at the codes on the lights and say they have to be changed, even if the beam pattern is correct. I'll keep my fingers crossed and let you know how I get on. Thanks again.
