Random false seat belt warning indication

I had this ages ago and realised it was my heavy handbag on passenger seat doing it. So I strapped it in.
I think that's a subtle hint that you might have a bit too much in your bag ;)

if you go down the route of the bypass module, you will need the car coded to switch of the seatbelt chime as the car thinks there is someone in the seat. can be sdone in SSSv32 software retro section.

When i did mine i needed no coding after...worked plug and play :driving:

Trust me if you use a bypass module then you need to code the car to switch off seatbelt reminder because the bypass module tells the car that someone is sitting in the seat so the airbag system works correctly.
I have coded lots of z4's because of this and have done it myself

Sensible post. Make sure there isn't anything on the passenger seat as the seat sensor then thinks it has a passenger that needs strapping in.

Yes Luke, got it sorted, it was due to me chucking my briefcase onto the passenger seat! The sensors thought it was someones backside.....both made of leather I guess!

Sorry, not in my case, i have been driving my car around for 3 years now with the bypass module and never get a seatbelt alarm. (Maybe different module?) Without the bypass module I was getting the airbag alarm.

Did your seatbelt chime work before and what module have you got, very interested in it as I haven't come across a module that does this,

Well i got the car with the airbag problem already existing and fitted the module within a few days but i think the seatbelt alarm worked fine before the module. I got the module through e bay, it came from Uk if i relember correctly. I will try to take a picture of it.
