Rainsensor issues!

Hi there!
Got the windscreen changed a month ago after a crack this summer.

Now the rainsensor don't work anymore.
The glass garage can't seem to reset/reignite the system via their machines. No fault code from the rainsensor either.

Should they just give it to BMW..?
 
There have issues with new screens in the past and the sensor not working. I think the wires run near to where the glass would be cut out, so they may have sliced the wires to the sensor. Do a search on the forum. :thumbsup:
 
Search function pretty crap, anyway I found threads on Bimmerforum. Seems the 3-series had lots of this with aftermarket windows, as if the actual glass quality is pretty important. Could be it, and then I prob would need a OEM BMW screen.
Fat chance my garage will pay for it!
 
The sensor can be reinitialised with INPA, and you can check whether it's working there too. I'm happy to check it for you if you're anywhere near Bedford/Hertfordshire
 
Yes. INPA is needed to reinitialise after changing the glass. I had to do it on my wife's 325 when it got a new screen this summer. Two minute job with the software.
 
Thanx. The glass shop tried to initilaze twice but to no avail.
Does a BMW garage have better equipment for it?
