Rain & Water Spots

I've just cleaned my car knowing it was about to p*** down. Should I have bothered drying it as I know the rain is going to leave nasty marks? :evil:

My Abarth was outside, clean, and it hosed down for about 4 hours this morning. The sun is shining now and there is not a mark on it.

How come? Is the water not hard in your area?

Only works on a clean car though, when a car is sandy it becomes a right mess.

The water only becomes hard as it has filters through the ground into the reservoir. Thats how different areas have different water hardness - its the geology of the area you/the reservior is in.

Just cleaned mine... in the rain

We have a hose pipe ban down here so rinsed it off with watering can using water from the water butt along with a little rain to help me along. Now the sun has come out and dried it off theres not a mark on it

This was one reason I was thinking of getting a water butt, useful for final rinse.
