Radio randomly changes volume

Installed a new radio unit recently (the professional one that pairs with the sat nav screen) and randomly have the volume go from normal to blasting out for half a second, then back to normal. Has anyone else experienced this? Happens maybe once or twice every half hour.

Read up about the volume changing with speed, but this is completely erratic behaviours. Even when I had the radio turned all the way down, it did the same, so very confused.

That is not the traffic info part I assume as that seems to have a life on its own? I switched that off, might be worth trying especially as you mentioned every 30 mins or so
