Radio no sound (dsp model)

My 03 85 has no sound through any of its 10 speakers, unit turns on okay.
Checked fuses 47/50 plus 30amp on the amp and the 50amp in the yellow box.

No signs of water ingress whatsoever in the boot or amp.

What I have noticed is that there is a small coax cable that is loose next to the amp and what appears to be a hole for a connector in the amp body with no connector, would this be used to power the amp on?
These are the only photos I have at present.

Would love to get an answer before potentially spending cash unnecessarily. However would a ditch for an aftermarket solution be the way to go? Opinions….

Thanks

Hi,
The coax cable is found in early (03 to circa 05) zeds equipped with or prepared for a CD changer. If your amp does not have a connector it could well be a replacement unit from a later MY.

Have you ever heard any sound using this amp or is this a new car to you? If you have had sound, I’d start with an easy one, just looking for bulging capacitors (it’s usually the top) and replace them.

Thanks for the response to my post!
so the car is new to me & I’ve never heard sound does have a 6 disk changer and the amp has what, I think, what is a space for the coax but there’s no socket on the amp.

How do you get the board out from the casing? I dismantled everything but seems to be solid?

To follow up, I have replaced the amp and everything is working perfectly, my original amp is missing the connector for the red wire that’s similar to a dab aerial. Anyone know what’s that’s called and if they are available anywhere?

Thanks for the follow up, it’s nice to hear how things turned out in the end. Re dab aerial, can’t help with that - we’ve never have dab up here.

I'm experiencing a similar issue. Only occurs in the winter. 2003 with 10 speaker top hifi amp in the boot, had everything plugged in including coax cable.

Key on Pos1, amp works just fine. Music playing.
Key on ignition.Engine started up, music playing however in a couple of minutes, it cuts. Alternatively If I were to rev, it cuts the audio.

Pulling up to a traffic light, clutch in and brakes, audio comes back momentarily.

Any possible tips?

When there's no audio, ISTA says it can't connect to the DSP module. When it's running, it is visible on the control tree after a rediagnosis
