Racing Harness

Hi, I have searched the forum but I am unable to find any info on fitting a racing harness. I know that there must be owners who have fitted them , especially if they track their car seriously and or race, but I am unable to find details.

I have searched other forums/internet but other then full blown race prepared cars there seems to be little to no info. I have seen/read forum threads about track day cars and yet dispite all the upgrades..they all still use the OEM seat belt.

Has any one fitted a race harness or has info /links , I would be very greatfull :)

So no-one has fitted a racing harness to their Z4 ?

Okay this may not be the best place to ask for such info , but I would have thought that anybody who 'tracks' their car would have considered /fitted a racing harness., or perhaps could recommend someone.

I have slowly pushed the car since I bought 'her', and there is definitely one thing that I would like to 'update' in order to vastly improve the driving experience when 'pushing' the car to the 'limit'....and that is the slopping around on my slippery leather racing seats on country roads with nice go for it bends, and roundabouts.

My car has the M sport racing seats, which are great but the issue is the restraing harness !

Fitting a '5' point harness would be a huge improvment in the driving experience, not only on track but on nice country roads , when the oppertunity arisese :)

I simply put in better seats in my Z4MC...Recaro Pole Position ABE in Black Ambla & Alcantara...and the combo if a much better seat (better thigh/hip/rib support) means the standard 3-point belt is fine for trackdays & fast road.

The racing harnesses I have seen fitted have usually bean attached to a roll-cage or rear tower bar...but I'd not use them in a road car.

The posts below refer to e85/e86 Z4s, but similar options (seats/rollcage/harnesses) must be possible for the e89...not that I've seen any outside of proper motorsport cars...maybe the folding metal room restricts what can be fitted to road cars (i.e. no space in boot for strut bar, and no space anywhere for half-roll-cage?
