Quick question about the aerial

Hi all, Just before my warranty runs out I thought I'd check on this minor problem I'm having.

The radio reception in my Zed is terrible, I mean really really poor on almost all FM stations, even with a full size aerial.

Can anyone confirm if these have an aerial booster or amp type arrangement that could be at fault? If it's basically nothing but an aerial with a wire running to the head unit then I fail to see how it could be at fault?
 
The FM aerial has nothing to do with the aerial on the rear wing (except under exceptional circumstances) the aerial for FM is fastened side to side on the inside of the rear bumper cover. First port of call would be to check that is connected and not broken
