quick question about service intervals.

Z4 is due an oil service according to the on board computer (in 250 miles).

Service booklet says last service was done at 74360. So by the time I've done the 250 miles, it'll be 13,000 miles since last service.

I thought the intervals were 2 years/15,500 miles, so which do I go on? The on board computer which appears to adjust the mileage until it's due according to your driving or the proper BMW service schedule?

Just had a look at the service book and it appears to have previously been serviced by the onboard computer rather than bmws recommended service schedule. Been serviced at 11k, 22k, 35k, 50k, 63k and 74k (which is the one done in my ownership).
 
The next service is calculated by the OBC from the average fuel consumption and the use of 500 gallons. The basic start point is 15,500 miles which is 30 mpg.

Mine's averaging about 13,500 between services (or about 27mpg), which ties in nicely with the OBC/Fuelly figures I'm getting.

Only 31mpg (15,500 from 500 gallons) for a non-M sounds a bit low! I'd have assumed more like 18,000 between services should be more like it.
