Quick Intro ! - Todays The Day!

Sorry if this isn't the done thing, however i thought i would just introduce myself as a new member.

I have been hanging around here for a few years ever since I owned my old Z4 3.0SI roadster, however i moved to 1addicts when i got my 135i a couple of years back. Anyway whilst the 135i is a stunning car to live with day to day, I never really got the feeling that it wanted to have a rummage with/ around my wedding veg! Hence the reason why I have just bought a Z4M Coupe (Silver, Black Leather and all the toys)

I'm really looking forward to getting her next week and i have a lovely 130mile trip back from the dealer so we should bond quite nicely.

The one thing i wanted to ask (will have a look on the boards later) is, does anyone have an aftermarket iPod system (with USB etc) recommendations. I had the BMW iPod kit in my old Z4 roadster and was completely underwhelmed by it (esp at £320 installed) Key things i would be looking for would be, Track Text on the Nav Screen, possible Video output to the Nav Screen. Don't need Btooth as it's already installed.

welcome and your new car sounds great :D

I just use the AUX IN for iPod in mine but you wont get the control you want with that.... pvr will be along in a minute to recommend the intravee :D

Cheers Gannet, not sure if mine has a Aux In but i can check. I've been looking at the Dension Gateway 300, http://www.ipodcarkitdirect.co.uk/iPod_Car_Kit/iPod_Kits/Dension_Gateway_300_iPod_Car_Kit but i'm trying to figure out if it can output to the Nav Pro screen for iPod video goodness, Which would be nice!!

I am going to be inst a "connects"kit in the near future,to my 3.0i se(with the carver prof system),tho u can get 1 to suit the nav systems too,so will let u know asap how i get on

I'll look into the Intravee thing, however i'm not sure how it differs from the Dension GW300 and like i said the idea of Video on the Nav Pro screen sends me all warm and fussy.

I've been doing some research into the Intravee II (looks rather good for a iPod and Text kit). Any recommendations on where to buy and DIY or Pro fitting.

I would still really appreciate any feedback on the Dension GW500 with the Video module, as it states that you can get Video playback (iPod or USB source) through any OEM Monitor, which would be rather nice

He's slacking, no sign of him yet, butfrom what I have seen the Intravee is the way to go with Nav though.

I was also looking at the intravee - but like you for the price of the kit i would like to have video's (as useless as it may be)

In y last car i fitted a Pioneer HU, which had DVD playback, nav, BT and best of all ipod integration with video's.

car sounds great, my next choice of car soon i hope. post some pictures, i need to see this beast.
 
Welcome :thumbsup: Surprised about the lack of excitement with the 135, in the tests I've seen it can give a Cayman S a very close run. Will be interesting to see a comparison with the M. Be good to see some pics of the 135 when you do some of the M :) Where are you based by the way?
 
The 135i is really really nice (lots of power and huge touque), its just doesn't seem to involve you in the drive as much as the Z, hence the change. I'll happily hunt some snaps out of as it is a beauty - which you would kind of expect given it was a BMW Launch Car!!

Fingers crossed the ZMC is being prep'd by the dealer, and a little imperfection on the left valance re painted. As soon as I get her back home, the D200 will come out for some photo glory!!

Current thoughts on Mods are as follows

Carbon Fibre Roof Vinyl (?!?!)
Carbon Firbe Lip Spoiler
Stubby
Intravee or Dension GW500 with Video Playback (if i can find out more about it!)
