Questions from a noob!

Just picked up my Z4 today off a member on here so of course I'm excited!
I did have 2 questions however so any assistance welcome!

Firstly when locking and unlocking it makes a loud beep. This I think will get annoying so can it be turned off?
Secondly, despite reading the manual, I can't see how to either dim the sat nav screen or put into night mode? It's quite bright at the moment which at night is a pain!

I believe you can have your Zed's functions reprogrammed - there are some on the forum that can do this but your dealers will do it for a fee I'm sure. Perhaps try a search on the forum?

Satnav I can't help with - my Tom Tom does it automatically . . . . . (don't have satnav on my Zed)

The single beep on lock and double beep on unlock can be programmed on or off using INPA.

Personally, I like the beep (Marcus coded mine in) as it assures me the car is locked, rather than have to stand there and watch the indicators flash.

Tiny thing, but it just makes life that little bit easier.

I can see why you'd like the beep and I might too if it was a bit quieter!

you can dim the nav screen from the SET position on the screen... i dont believe there is an auto dim feature but i may be wrong.

The nav screen has a 'day/night function in the menu/settings. It doesn't automatically change from one to the other i dont think.

My satnav dims slightly when the headlights are switched on. But there is also a function in the menus as said. It doesn't do a full night mode automatically though

Always find that the brightness on my sat nav reverts back to midway regardless of where I set it.
