Apologies if this sounds silly but I've never had to add this information before.
When quoting for car insurance and adding your claim details there are several questions asked:
Total Cost of Claim : Does this mean the total cost to me? ie how much excess I had to pay or the total cost of the repair bill for the vehicle?
Was the driver at fault : If the claim was agreed as a 50 : 50 incident does this mean yes or no?
Naturally by making my total claim cost my excess (£175) rather than total repair bill (over £1800) and selected driver at fault no it brings down the quote.
The difference works out around £50 online and seems to be due to the "Was the driver at fault" part..
Any ideas? I don't want to be fraudulent but at the same time the explanations given online are vague and don't tell you which one I should tick..
Thanks
