Ok,
I've looked in the manual, and cannot find the info I want..
I know that pressing the sport button on my 3.0i speeds up the throttle response, and also makes the box hold onto the gears longer as well as weighting up the steering, and I think locking the torque converter up more, yes? It also shows "SD" in the gear selector display, which I presume means "Sport Drive"
BUT - What exactly does shifting the selector across to the "manual" position do? I know it produces the "SD" indicator if left in auto, but does that mean the box alone goes into sport mode, without affecting the throttle response/steering? I realise manual shifting fore and aft with the lever just selects the required gear as well as indicating M* with * being the gear, BUT what is the difference? Also is there another twist on this by pressing sport, and then shifting the lever across?
Just curious, as ATM if I want to hoon, I merely hit sport and away I go, turning it off when I reach the desired speed etc..
Comments/thoughts?
