Question for the Audio modders ...

Having read the excellent http://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14499&p=214641&hilit=+audio+http://#p214641 audio upgrade thread in the FAQ, I'm interested in having a look at an audio upgrade. But ... how do I take the cubby holes out ? I've pulled at 'em, and they seem to want to stay in place.

On a related note, how does the grill over the upper rear speaker come off ?

Perhaps I'm just not being brutal enough ... it's just that I didn't want to end up with a bag full of broken bits :o

My advice would be .. dont bother touching the top speakers on the rear console - just unplug them in the boot - I sliced the wires to provide a feed for my amp.

But the cubbies I just pulled out, basically grasping the bottom, although I think you can pull them out gently at their corners too.

Be fairly gentle as to do a proper job you'll want to keep the original plastic mounting points for the replacement covers.

I've got a Cleansweep, 1 x Alpine PDX4.150 & Focal Polykevlar components. It sounds 80% right.. still a bit to do but it's a bit cold outside.
