Question about having special features activated/deactivated

In reading the Owners Manual (2007), to get the context, on page 19 they say:
Locking
Press lock button (center of key)
The hazard warning flashers light up once.
If you wish, you can have this special feature activated/deactivated.

I have not seen exactly how any of these special features get changed. Is this something only BMW can do with their HAL 2000, or can we get into some special setup menu?

Your dealer should have given you a predelivery check list. On that list it would include options like: DRL's on/off, door lock on/off after 5mph, etc.

Many dealers give you an option of changing it (once) at no charge after a short period of time to allow you to decide if you want to keep or adjust your choice. See you salesperson for that list and git r done.
