Question about E89 prices

Hi folks,
After 4 years and continuing faultless reliability of our E89 18i M sport my wife is looking to sell it privately or PX it in for another as the mileage has crept up from 39 to 72 and feels its time to sell before she hits 80k . It seems her 2013 18i M is worth around £7200 Px apparently, but not sure about selling privately.
My question without going into specification data is what do you guys think one of these (2013 18i m 72k ) in excellent condition bar alloys need refreshing (£400?) to make the car near perfect.

What terrible things is the wife expecting to happen at 80k miles?

Best way to get a value for private sales is to look on auto trader and see where yours would likely fit. There are a couple that might be similar at £8k, and a couple more at £9k - but they are both from dealers. To be honest, if you can get £7,200 part ex then that's probably a very good deal.

As a reference; we sold our 2013 18i M-sport last Summer for £10,500 privately.
It had done only 31k miles and was (is) in immaculate condition. Prices do seem to have headed South since then, though, so £8k ish would seem realistic.

Thanks for your input chaps, still not sure what to do. I'm not expecting anything to happen at 80k but just like the idea of replacing it for a lower mileage version of the same spec. Cheers Tom

If the car is otherwise spot on - why risk changing & inheriting someone elses problems?

For £1k I will happilly sell you a nice sticker that reads '30,000' to put over your odometer if that's all that matters?

My thoughts are moving this way......to px our lovely e89 for 7200 and then spend around £14k for a 18month never lesser mileage model is starting to seem not such a good idea. Thanks for your thoughts.
