Quad Spot Rear Lights

So I'm finally getting around to ridding the car of its ginger bits. After initially using fly-eye on the rear lights, I decided to look for some bargains on ebay germany. €60 later and this is the result. Ive ordered some tint spray as per the posts on here for the quad-spots but after fitting them Im not sure if I will leave them as they are. What do you guys think? Too boy racer?

Aghhhh, dreaded someone saying that. I also liked the fly-eye tint on the old lights but wanted to be rid of the ginger, properly.
 
I've always had an inbuilt 'anti boy racer modifications' meter and usually can't stand the type of alterations made to what I see as perfectly acceptable standard body parts on a car. Although completely 'not bovvered' by the ginger bits on my Z, I don't view the replacements in photo 3 as boy racerish at all and think they look great, giving the rear end a cleaner, more modern look. Interesting to see if you get lots of comments and if the majority prefer the complete change (pic 3) or the fly eye tint (pic 2). However, if you like them that's all that really matters.

Thanks :thumbsup: a more modern look is exactly what I was after. I definitely think they look better than the original. Just not sure wether to tint the outer rings red, leaving four clear dots. As you said, will be interesting to see what others think.
 
So after driving for a week or so with all clear lights, I decided to use the advice given on here and tint the lights using e-tech tint and lacquer. This is the result and I must admit for an outlay of approx £80 all in, I'm quite chuffed.

:thumbsup: Thanks for the comments guys. If it weren't for this forum I would be stuck with the ginger bits. Next up is the front lights. Not sure wether to go aftermarket or second hand facelifts. Not really fussed about the halos, just want rid of the 90s looking ginger.
 
I'd personally get facelifts or do a cut and shut on yours.

Thats what i did. Got 2 cheap facelift headlamps and used parts of them with my ginger ones to create some clear headlights.
 
Id rather go the face lift route too. Every time I find a set I then convince myself I will find them cheaper. Most sets seem to go for around £200-£300? Just seems a lot of money to just be rid of the ginger. Been considering buying another ginger set and tinting the hockey stick dark. Seems a cheaper route but not sure about legal/mot.
