Quad Exhausts

Not sure what I can 'answer' here. Pawnsacrifice you have both the resonator (the heart shaped piece covered by the traingular plate with hole in it) and the front boxes.

I deleted the resonator for a different deeper but not raspy sound.

I would wrap the whole of the cross pipe in exhaust heat shield tape to keep that area cool.

Haven't noticed any smoke from the exhausts since it's been fitted. But it's going to very heavily favour the LHS (as expected) judging by the difference when putting my hand over the tail pipes. Believe me, I want to get something to show - it's even been cause for speculation on Twitter!

PawnSacrifice,

FYI, I get about 2/3 rd of the exhaust output from the RHS as I do the LHS. I found very little output from either side when the car is at idle, so I used a golf club to push and hold the accelerator at 3k RPM.

Just to use the knowledge of CJ, Pawnsacrifice and co, will this fit my early 2004 car?

Could save having to use the oven for a mod! :P I'd love quad pipes but really don't want a poor finish of the cut out!

You'll need to change to facelift lights to fit a M rear bumper - as i think the profile of the ligths is different.

Correct - different shape lights and further the lower edge will need a lot of work as the battery box is where the centre vent is and the ///M has a sort of diffuser in front. I actually had an ///M bumper and sold it on as it was way too complex to fit in all sorts of points.

Bobbydm,

Yes, I installed an M bumper on my 2005 Z4 and upgraded to the LED tail lights as well. If you go this route be prepared that you will have to do a simple wiring change, and you will have to have a dealer reset your system to recognize that you've got LED tail lights (you'll be showing an error on your dash until then). I found the instructions to the re-wiring on this website, but if you have issues don't hesitate to PM me and I'd be glad to assist.

dyerkes, It's nice to know its been done. Some photos would be great! Did you need any professional bodywork doing? Whenever someone looks at my car for the first time they always say it needs a quad exhaust!

+1 :poke:

Peddy, picked my car up this morning and when I got home I noticed I had steam! Tried to take some footage but the BlackBerry resolution wasn't enough to see the steam against the silver :x A tickover it was about 70/30... suspect under load it will be more 80/20. To be honest, I love it so much now (noise / look) that I don't really care.

Pardon the quality of the photos, but I thought I'd share what I have at the moment.

But you can't delete it once someone has made another comment... oops! :P

Looking good, but we need some day shots!
