PS4 dualshock4 charging-

Hi all-does anyone know if it is possible to charge a PS4 dualshock4 pad fro a wall mounted plug with a USB socket?-its just that I don't really like the wire trailing out from the front of the console, I have asked over on the PS4 forum but I thought I may get a quicker answer over here  -thanks

No you can't, something to do with the usb protocol configuration that Sony has done.

You need a AC charger kit that Sony made for the ps3... That's what I use to charge my ps4 controllers:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStation-AC-Adaptor-PS3/dp/B001PO5L4K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390068208&sr=8-1&keywords=ps3+ac+adapter

Other usb chargers just don't work due to the communication protocol! I tried a ebay special for £3.00 and it won't charge the controller ... Genuine sony is the way to go... :)

Battery life is shite isn't it (compared to ps3 pad)
Yer... It's all the colour changing LEDs! Maybe the next firmware update your be able to switch them off! ;)

Would like that but Sony say it's not going to happen.

Thats my biggest gripe too... The battery life is so much worse then the ps3. I could play GTA3 for a week without charging.

Just found out a Samsung galaxy ace mobile charger works to charge the DS4 pad, it wont damage either the charger or the pad will it?
