Prospective new buyer

Hi,

I currently have a 3.0si 57 Z4 but having just been involved in an accident i don't think i will be getting the car back. So time to look for an upgrade.

I am looking at a few E89's online.. And have a few questions regarding them..

What options are there that appear on the centre consol ( as some adverts seem to not list all extras). I mean the area on mine where i have heated seats/open/close roof, traction control and tyre inflation.. As most i E89 images i see on for sale adverts have only 2-4 buttons here and a few blank buttons?

Is the i-drive/nav system in them worth having? As i have seen 1 or 2 that have them, but wouldnt want to end up paying a premium if it isn't really worth it.

If i come across any other questions i will post up here :) Thanks in advance for any advice.

P.S i have a budget of circa £17-18,000 buying cash

here is one i had been looking at..

Not every button was used on the centre console even when the car was fully loaded. You have heated seat buttons, PDC (I can't park beepers), and roof buttons AFAIK.

As for iDrive, I'm a gadget man, I had to have it, its great. Use youtube to see what it can offer. Nav, settings, internet, music bank etc. If you're not gadgety and you can get a cheaper car without iDrive, do that.

Without wanting to sound to much of a tw@t I have quite a high spec car and I still have a few blanks , with regard to nav/idrive its a personal thing , some people dont like it all , others say its fine , me I like it , like maniac I like the 'gadget' aspect & I always think portable devices make car look untidy

The best colour, but TBH that standard dash trim is really crap!! Look for a car with an upgrade aluminium or piano black (the m-sport have silver carbon as standard) I think the aluminium looks the best.

What is the standard dash colour - silver?
Does the aluminium look that different?
