For anyone that was wondering how rare their Z4 Coupe is I contacted BMW (sad, I know :wink: ) to find out total production numbers and they advised:
BMW Z4 3.0si Coupe (manual) = 1598 :driving:
BMW Z4 3.0si Coupe (Automatic) = 1998
Afraid I don't have the numbers for Z4M Coupes but with only 3,600 Z4 3.0 Coupes in the world this will explain why its a blue moon moment when I see one driving the other way. I'm surprised so many are autos but I assume a lot of these are in the US where there are probably more autos per head than in Europe...
My next question, which BMW won't be able to answer, but maybe someone here can, is how does this compare with other sports cars - are there more Ferrari 308/328's around than Z4C's for example. Would be nice to say my Z4 is rarer than a Ferrari/TVR/Cayman etc!

The lack of coupes on the roads of the UK was one of my main reasons for wanting one! :driving:
) - although I did ask them for TOTAL numbers :headbang: . Still, even if the figure is just 3,600 for UK (plus Z4MC's) we're still a pretty exclusive gang 8) - most of the Chimaera production, for example will have stayed home in the UK so that remains a good example of exclusivity in my book. Interesting to see the Top Gear boys took the shell off an old Chimaera chassis for a "project" recently - must have made a few TVR owners wince!
