Problem with the remote control.

Hi,

I tried to ask help for this issue from finnish bmw-forum but no one could help me. I wonder if you guys have the solution.

I took my car apart, i.e. I remove seats, center console and cabin carpet. I also removed "general unit" from the behind of the glove box. Then I went and turn the ignition power on (damn me). After I assemble the car back its shape, everything worked, except the remote control to lock/unlock doors.

I tried to reprogram keys with these instructionhttp://www.programyourkeys.com/BMW_Z4_Key_Remote_Control_Fob_Programming.html with no luck. Doors locks and central locking works manually by using doors lock and by pushing button in central console but when I try to use remote control the car won't react at all.

Now I don't know what to do. Is it possible that car forgot the code or something like that because of I do things that I mentioned above? Is local BMW-dealer programs to recode my keys and car to make remote control to work, or are there some other way to solve the problem? Is it possible to recode car/keys by using DIS.

Very possible the car forgot the code, but the reprogram technique should work. Possibility the connection from the general unit to the antenna was damaged when it was removed.

You won't be able to recode the car with DIS.

Oh boy, it took a while but problem is now solved.

Problem was in the wiring hardness. By testing wires with the multimeter, I find out that antenna amplifier (located in interior mirror) wasn't grounded. I assembled new groundwire and everything works perfectly  .
