Private reg plate ideas needed

As announced yesterday, I've got a new X3 coming and I think that I'd like to get a private plate - I don't want to spend a fortune so wondered if you lot could help with some ideas

My full name is Cindy J Gunn, so initials could be an option

Thanks

Initials will probably be the cheapest option. I wouldn't go for anything that model specific so not X3 CJG. Have you a nickname that could be used? Unfortunately you won't find C1 NDY, C10 NDY, C111 NDY. Maybe C99 UNN, the choice will be a hard one.

Few to pick from there :)

499 is really the starting point nowadays :(.

They really aren't worth the hassle or ongoing cost either (especially if you change cars often) !

Starting point is £250 if you want something that's current designation AG03 CJG as an example.
Search DVLA

Some plate traders sell the £250 ones for less.

Example. Plenty of others:

Don't forget these companies are +vat and transfer fee so are usually much more than Direct DVLA that's all inclusive pricing.

Sod the plate! with a name like "Cindy J Gunn" you should be a rock star :)

Or start with 00

Ah yes that's embarrassing. I've just checked and you're right. So the DVLA are cheapest for unissued plates.

I know as I have several private plates and was nearly caught by this the first time.

The aftermarket companies do a good job of trading those already in the public space, but it bugs me that they sell plates that are still available on the DVLA and add a margin and also make it difficult to see the additional costs compared to DVLA direct.
