out of curiosity what is the plate you retained
hi there, i would rather not say what the number plate reads as i had a bad experience not so long ago ...

suprising as they always recommend getting a 'personalised' plate because its less suceptible to cloning....? :(

For the benefit of the masses, what happened?

well the problem i had was with a motorcycle i advertised last year, i did not blank all the numbers out fully (my fault) on the reg plate and some one decided to put it on a stolen r1 and have some fun with the police, im sure you know what happened next. thats the reason i dont want to give personal plate details . its happened twice to me but the first time was about 12 yers ago, strange thing was when it happened first time i never had the bike advertised.

Can't see how it's your fault the theif could of used any plate but to happen twice to you that is bizarre. :o

if this happens how is it the polices word against yours?
well the r1 they put my plate on was black and my r1 was the candy red colour so when they came round they had a look at my r1 then realised it was not me. also when they checked out the reg number it came back with a candy red r1 and not a black one so they was already suspicious that it may be stolen. but ya dont need the hassle of it all..
