Pressure Washers

Need to buy a new pressure washer, Had a Karcher for years, but has packed in. To be fair it's probably 12 years old and lives in the shed all year so not a bad innings.

Looking to replace with another Karcher, but am I paying for a brand over performance? Any one else got something different but equal or better on performance?

Used for car, patio, driveway. Domestic stuff, would like to have an option to add foam etc.

Thoughts?

I bought a Karcher K2 the other month, mainly for doing outside around the house with the Patio T Racer and it did a brilliant job but I found one downside is the quality of the fittings, the unit itself seems robust enough BUT. The carrying handle is supposed to click on but all its does is slot into 2 holes and doesn't seem to attach firmly. Result is everytime you pick the unit up by the handle it just pulls off. Really is poor and rubbish design and next to useless. For this alone I can't recommend a Karcher, unsure if the other models are silmilar but I found it very frustrating every time you pick the thing up the handle comes off  Wished I'd looked at Nilfisk now,

Tim.

I've been pleased with my Karcher. I did suffer a cracked pipe a few years back in a severe winter when everything froze, must have been some water in it. Managed to get a new part and fit it, good as new.

How old is your Karcher john? I don't know if the handle problem I have is with the latest models but was pretty dissapointed to be honest as always thouyght Karcher were top banana. I thought of taking some pics and having a moan to Karcher, Victor Meldrew style :)

Just replaced my pressure washer - I found a Karcher outlet website that sold refurbed or customer returned units
They were about half price and still came with a warranty
You could build up the package you wanted
I chose one with the patio/decking attachment - brilliant

Good communication re delivery. It came in a plain box and was in perfect condition, not a mark on it

I'm more of a Nilfisk fan myself two karchers have let me down in the past so tried something new.

All of the reviews were pointing to nikfisk unless you go for the professional range where the karcher was better.

I am really impressed with it and it was a better buy than the karcher at the time as well also dare I say it it feels better made as well!

I've got a Karcher K7. Stunning thing. Cost a bit more than the supermarket brands but it's excellent, very powerful. One thing I found is that the domestic Karchers and the K series (well the bigger ones for sure) use different lance fitting so I had ot get an adaptor.

Just found the Karcher Outlet site, couple of cracking deals on there at the moment

Nilfisked up here, I have a patio cleaner that's still in the box. (rental house, water meter)
Snowfoams fine with the AB attachment,
Had an argos voucher from somewhere or other for £20 - think it was shell points. plus they were doing £20 off, so cost me £59
Now all I need is an outside tap on the front not the back, have to keep disconnecting the dishwasher to wash the car :x

Nilfisk also. Had and used many Karchers in the past but the nilfisk just feels better quality. Admittedly it is the P150 model at about £300!!!!

Another Nilfisk owner here. I picked one of these up about 6 months ago from Argos http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1577941.htm it's been great so far on the car and cleaning the patio etc. good value with all the accessories as well as 3 year guarantee.

The cheap karchers have plastic pump bodies so better to go for a nilfisk. I have an E130 and rate it.

With any brand though buy a rubber hose. A bought a 20m one for about £70 but it's so much better than trying to struggle with those horrible plastic ones.

It's at least 10 years Tim.

I used it last month to clean up a patio, still going strong!

Bought a karcher K7 for cleaning the block paving and decking, now added a foam lance for some car cleaning fun :) great bit of kit but not cheap.
