Do the exhaust bypass mod. An astounding difference for the money and if you don't like it you can take it off.

The one thing I've done to my car that I wouldn't be without, still looks completely OEM and sounds great. Every other exhaust I've heard sounds like it belongs on a chavved up Subaru.

This is my general viewpoint also. A guy I knew had supersprint's on his ///MC.

Offensively loud, I love the note of the OEM system, could be a bit louder but when you give it some juice the sound still brings a smile to my face.

Absolutely ace. Fire the car up and you get a nice burble, louder than stock. Drive round town, no real drama. Its a bit louder but not 'look at me - I'm a twat' louder. Give it some and it competes with the engine, sounds great.

The Mrs was ready to wear a balaclava in the passenger seat when I told her I was getting it done; but in her words - 'sounds loads better, it purrs'.

Warren Engineering make the pipes and then go to a reputable garage for fitting, no more than £100 all in and sounds better than any other exhaust I've heard. As I understand it its the same principal porsche use for their sports exhaust but without a button in the cabin - in other words its always on.
 
Fingers crossed they call back at some point. Would be nice to get over and see/hear one of there systems in person.
 
So went to meet the guys today and I have to say they are more then passionate about cars, especial exhausts. I was more then impressed by there knowledge and it somewhat put me at ease when leaving my car with them for the development and fitting.

Now it's a case of just a case of finding the time to fit it in and when I can be carless for a week.
 
Would be interested to know how this goes! I've got two spare OEM backboxes i'm about to be able to afford to play with .. torn between gutting them, bypass modding them or looking at potential valve options..

Gotta say the porsche style sports exhaust button is great, gives exactly the right volume in quiet mode and a healthy gurgle in noisy mode.

I guess with a spare set of boxes i can happily test the bypass without any problems trying the other two later.
 
I will probably be in touch with them to organise a time once I'm back off holiday.

They did say they would offer the system at a discounted rate to forum members.

I agree with this, except to say it could do with volume turning up a bit. A Remus/AC Schnitzer is the best I've heard.

Still considering my options, looking like this might be out of reach. Only so much funds to go round, tyres and brakes are a priority.
 
Do Warren Engineering still offer these pipes?

Edit: Yes I know I should call, but I'm not ready to do it so don't want to waste their time. But it would be good to know they do going forward.
 
ive just called and spoke with these, they have quoted £395 for a dual exit cat-back system in stainless steel (mid & rear section) for my 2003 BMW Z4 3.0 E85 SE
