Power to the storage box on the dash???

So thinking of putting a power supply inside the dash top storage area, would like to have a usb and C socket inside to power phone and may be a dash camera. Where is the best/easiest point to get 12v up there? Was thinking of tapping into the cigarette socket wiring ,but does this involve the centre console removal , or is there an easier way ?

You could run a piggy back fuse of the main fuse box on say the adaptive suspension feed..you may be able to thread it from there to the centre via removing the glove box... otherwise if you have it the ciggy lighter with a USB plug in adapter buried under the centre console is what I did.

I've dome both..ciggy for dashcams front and rear..piggy back for front camera..

cheers will check that out ,i was thinking lift the cig lighter and tap into the wire (fused) and try get it to the compartment that way

I kept the cigar socket and just plugged a usb adapter in

I removed the socket from the ash tray and had it under the centre trim …ashtray closes power to dash cam..simples
