Power steering failure

Got the light on the dash but no fault code on my basic scanner 'torque' on android app store.

It came on initially a couple of weeks ago when I started the car. I turned it off and on again and all was fine. Later that same day it did it a 2nd time.

Now it seems like it's on permanently, fortunately it's at home.

Is there anyone in the Coventry or midlands area that has a suitable device to talk to the power steering module to see if that's hiding anything?

I've got a whole steering column lined up to purchase out of a z that is being broken.

Any advice would be wonderful.

Thanks

Not 100 per cent sure but think torque and the other Android apps can only talk to the dme, think carly might be able to talk to the eps module but honestly it ain't worth it better off getting a cable and ista or a creator obd reader.

If you have a sport button and it doesn't light up also then it's an indication that the eps module on the eps motor has failed and needs to be sent off to ecu testing to be repaired

Don’t bother. If the EPS ECU has failed then it doesn’t talk to any device.
So you are looking at getting the motor off and sent away for repair.

I have a sport button. I'll see if it illuminates tomorrow.
I've a replacement eps motor and ECU arranged and hopefully that'll be with me asap.
I'll also be getting the part number and removing my current eps motor off tomorrow and getting it arranged to be sent for refurbishment.

Use ECU testing on eBay rather than their direct website it's cheaper via ebay
