Potential Z4M R owner

Hi Guys,

Going to see a Z4M R tonight! Fingers crossed I can fit. 6ft 6" so may be rather tight. I do drive smaller cars so I am use to tight driving but we shall see!

Any tricks / ideas from Taller drivers?

Cheers
Elliot

Unfortunately the driving position is comprised for taller drivers, I’m 6ft 2” as such I wouldn’t entertain using it as a daily drive.

I'm 6'4" and comfortably used my E85 as a daily. Plenty of space imo. Guess it depends of you've got a longer body or legs, or something else?

I have an MCoupe e86 and I’m 6’ 2 and I wouldn’t want to be any taller, I think I’m on the upper limit of acceptable!

You will fit fine. Just never put the roof up.

Seriously why would anyone ever what to spoil the view by putting a daft roof in the way. :?

Anyone who doesn't like getting wet when it rains!

Which it does quite often in the UK, albeit not recently.

OP I hope you can fit because any Z4M is a pretty special car.

Coupe here, also 6'2" and for me I have heaps of head room but seat is hard back and reclined, limit is feet to hips. Steering wheel is as far forward as possible.

Managed 600km no worries but wouldn't want to be any taller.

Good News! I went to see a Interlagos Blue Z4 M Roadster & I found that i fit comfortably!
I couldn't use it as daily driver but it's a good enough fit for a weekend!

Excellent

Wasn't that impressed with the specific car I saw unfortunatley. Car was quite tired looking, not a huge fan of black leather, late run in service and no Nav.

I have come across a car for sale on here which is Interlagos blue with the champagne nappa leather which from google Images is my favourite colour combo.

Is the Prof Nav that out dated the usability is terrible? I was thinking i'd like that option more for the use of radio / bluetooth etc. Can't imagine the Nav any good but be good to have a screen

Did many have extended leather?

The nav is a bit ancient now to be fair. You can still have the factory Bluetooth without the nav as well. I had most of the options on mine bluetooth/heated seats/cruise/upgraded stereo/folding mirrors etc, but I didnt have the nav though.

Is the radio also through the Pro Nav screen if that option is chosen? My thought process was that using the radio and hands free would be easier with the screen?

Yes, the radio is through the Pro Nav screen.

The Nav is pretty dated - even entering a destination seems long-winded, but I suppose if I used it more it may get more intuitive.

Sadly although mine has the Pro Nav and the Hifi Professional stereo I don't have Bluetooth. :(

The Pro Nav seems to be an option that some people rate and others think is a waste of time. The dashboard does look better without the Nav but I assumed the usability for phone & raido would be better through the Nav screen rather than the standard radio.

If you don't have the satnav, you lose:

- Some board computer functions
- Radio control
- Phone control
- iPod control
- (with tweaks) some fun bits like PDC distance, service data
