Posting a watch by Airmail

Hi all,

Does anyone know please if its OK to post a watch containing a battery by Royal Mail Airsure? I think it is but not 100% sure, Royal mail guidance says;

Lithium ion/polymer/metal/alloy batteries when not sent with, or contained in/connected to an electronic device, are prohibited.

Lithium ion/polymer/metal/alloy batteries are allowed when sent with or contained in/connected to an electronic device, but are subject to packaging, volume and quantity restrictions. Please see Restricted Goods page.

I'm taking its OK to post from the above as the battery is contained within an electronic device.

I want to send a watch as an x-mas gift to New York but obviously don't want to buy it only to find I can't post it out :)

Cheers,

Tim.

It must be a nice watch, I sent a small brass figure to the US a couple of weeks ago via airsure and it cost more than the brass figure did!

Do not forget to fill in the customs form and state it's a gift.

Its a DKNY ladies watch, not too expensive, airsure can be expensive but just depends on the weight of the item, reason I asked about the watch is because my local post office in town are not too clued up on what you can and cannot send by air, they questioned when I wanted to send some ladies makeup and ummmmed and arrrrred and weren't sure. I did ask another post office regarding sending an item with a battery inside and they said you couldn't full stop :| but I had a feeling the person hadn't read what items are restricted.

Tim.
