Postage stamps

what a faff. glad they arent doing this system with bank notes.

have to fill in a ruddy form just to get some non barcoded stamps swapped for some barcoded ones... why you cant just go to a post office to get them swapped i've no idea. Oh wait, its just a money grabbing scheme right there, how many people will have a few quids worth of stamps to swap, and decide its not worth the bother and just rebuying stamps instead.

As you say, but it will help with the wage rise bill

I got a form through the letter box telling me I need to send them to "Freepost SWAP OUT". I wonder how many will actually get there? :?

I went to the post office the other day and asked for a certificate of postage (can claim up to £20 if not delivered) but was informed because it is a freepost address with no postcode that it was not possible.

I later phoned Royal Mail to check whether this was correct and the guy wasn't entirely sure but gave me a substitute address which you can use. Need to put a stamp on the envelope but can then get a certificate. Given I had some missing post recently I plan to go down this route.

Address if anyone wants it is...
Royal Mail Swapout
Tallent House
21 South Gyle crescent
Edinburgh
EH12 9PB

Thanks for that.

Although looking at the first line of the address I'm not sure how much safer it will be!
